Black Beaded Basket

Use this beautiful, handcrafted bead basket as a small, pretty plant or flower pot, as a desk tidy, or storage basket for trinkets and jewellery. Palm leaf basket weaving was until only recently a dying craft, but you become part of its renaissance when you purchase one of these intricate, handmade African beaded baskets. Originally produced for collecting camels’ milk, today these doum palm baskets make for versatile and beautiful home accessories.  Woven from the blade of doum palm leaf and embellished with black glass beads, covering the basket like small polka dots. These beautiful palm baskets make stylish flower pots and indoor planters. 
These palm baskets are woven and embellished by hand by the Ariaal people of Ngurunit, Northern Kenya.
